LT80 Problems
#1
I have a new problem today. When I last asked for advice I had a bad throttle cable. I replaced it and the battery. I started to fire it up and I seemed to lock up. I tried a couple of more quick tries and then the starter would no longer try to crank. So I then I directly jumped the starter to test I and it would try to crank but not through the ignition switch and it was still locked up or too hard to crank over. I soon found by taking off the inspection cover and hand turning the inner sprocket that there was very high compression and I don't know why but so much the starter would not turn it over. I then removed the spark plug and a bunch of fuel shot out and that seemed to solve the high compression problem because I turn over easy again by directly jumping the starter. As to the button start all I still get is a light click in the relay under the seat. I did try to jumper the leads in the relay and it made no difference when trying the ignition switch. I am at a loss as to what to try next. Also the 5 amp fuse is ok under the seat. Any suggestions anybody.

First off, your motor did flood out. Get a on/off valve at the autozone/etc.
Maybe you fried the relay trying to start it?!? Did you push (reset) the lil red button under the right rear fender?
You can put the 12 volt source directly to the starter to make sure that's OK.

Thanks LT80 I did not know about the reset button and that was what was wrong with the start problem. Now I just have to get it to fire. It was running at an idle when the end of the cable was gone but now it just wants to crank. Later today I will pull the plug again and clean it and let the chamber air out. Then try to fire it again.
Thanks Again.
