Well I worked on it a little more. Taking LT80's advice to look at the clutch I did. When we bought the four wheeler new we had them install a pull start recoil on it, so it had electric start with pull recoil back up. When it started making noise I took the pull start recoil off an put in on the 2002 QS 80 my father bought for my sisters daughter that she's long out grown. My son has been riding that one for the last year or so.

Well I reached in the opening on our 2001 where the recoil was and grabbed the front clutch. It was extremely loose and moving back and forth and up and down a ton. I pulled the pull recoil off the 2002, reached in the hole grabbed the front clutch and it was as tight as could be with no play at all.

I pulled the cover off and removed the front clutch. Sounds like my engine is fine and I need a new front clutch. Any idea where to get a good deal on one??

motorsportssupercenter.com has the lowest internet prices. If you call and order, it's more money.
Better figure out exactly what parts are bad.
The fixxed face is expensive.

I just took the clutch apart. Going by the schematic on motorsportssupercenter.com. I took the cover off. It didn't look like the dampers were there (little piece that look like a clips). I pulled the drive plate off and the rollers were all over the place and there was what seemed like a plastic like material pieces all over the place too inside the movable drive face.

Can I buy all the parts and rebuild the clutch? The parts that go inside the movable drive face that is? The parts are cheap.

Again, I'll take all the help I can get!

You'll need the variator (sliding face), rollers, clutch plate and the insulators.
Most of the time you can re-use the seal on the variator.

From THIS schematic and parts list I was going to buy-

#10- Oil Seal

#7- O Ring

#5- 6 rollers

#3- Drive Plate

#4- 3 Dampers

Do I need to buy #2- Movable Drive Face or can I reuse the one I already have?

Thanks, NYH1!

You'll need::10-2-5-3-4
3-#4...6-#5
Gaskets too prolly.
I'm betting the variator is messed up. Once the rollers get as far gone as yours, it gouges the bageezus out of the roller tracts....Which will ruin new rollers and not run good.
Be happy your not buying the fixxed face.

Yep, I need the case gasket and the two gaskets for putting the jug and head back on. I really appreciate all your help. You are AWESOME!

Thank you, NYH1!
