Default How many Miles / Hours were on your NEW ATV when you picked it up?

I went to pick up my "NEW" King Quad 750 yesterday from the dealer... did the deal over the phone as the dealer was about a three hour drive. I get there and when I turn the key on I find my "NEW" ATV has 24 Miles and 22 Hours run time on it!!!! How many are normal?!?!?!?

After a long conversation around how that is not a big deal and its still NEW... I notice another 2011 blue king quad with .1 hrs and .1 miles on it... Told him I would rather take that one. Of course even though the higher hour unit was the same year and just as good.... he now starts saying the deal we worked out was because the unit had high miles hours and he could not do the same price on the low hour unit.... Brought up how there the same and the hours do not matter as we just talked about and he gave me some crap about how Suzuki does there rebates based on time on the ATV for the dealer which I knew was a lie... Then said the low mile unit would cost me $200 more....

I spent over two hrs going back and forth with them.... finally they gave in and sold me the .1 hr .1 mile unit for our original price which is now sitting in my garage. Just wondering what others have experienced.

Thanks!

Yea I would have had a problem with that too. As you saw in the odometer 24 miles is a lot of rideing on a quad in time wise. Seems to me they where selling off a demo and didn't say it was a demo. The right thing to do was when they advertised it was to say never titled demo with the miles and hours on it. Doesn't pay to be sneaky.

Yeah that doesn't sound right. I think The highest mileage on one I bought was .6 miles and I put about half that on riding it before I decided to buy it.

wow, they were trying to pull one on you. My brand new 2011 had 19 hours and 6 miles on it. i questioned the 19 hours and he said it was because they left the key on accidently. Now i'm having problems with the battery not starting it. they tell me the battery checked out fine so i have a drain coming from somewhere now. ugh.

Glad to hear I am not crazy.... I do not see how you can call something with over 20 both miles and hours of run time on it NEW....

This one had less than 6 minutes of run time on it in the showroom... and still had the plastic on the seat from the factory. I think the plan was to sell the high mile one and pull the new one in... When I spoke to him I told him I needed blue and he said he had ONE blue and ONE black.... When I got there there was my prepped and polished 22hr Blue one and this new blue one sitting off in the corner. Even the black one he tried to sell me I found had 12 miles and quite a few hours of run time on it.

So far EVERY time I have tried to buy something new at a dealer I have tried to have something pulled on me.... really bugs me. NEW cars with 180 miles.... Price jacks up $1500 just as I sign the papers for my PWC.... Car Sales staff pretty much screaming at me when I refuse to pay the new last minute terms.... everyone says they are going to lose their job.... UGH!!! Dont quote a price if you wont honor it!!!!

This was $6965 OTD which was a steal... but it should have been disclosed that it was high miles and used.... not keep telling me I am getting NEW. I want a NEW one for the price we worked out.

i think they're banking on people overlooking the miles and hours when they get all excited. i hear ya though, everything i buy brand new is always a hassle.
