LTZ-50 Excessive Fuel
#21
I took the carb apart. It appears that the main jet from the rebuild kit is smaller than the one I took out. So I swapped the main and pilot jets back. The quad runs a good as it has so far. However if I hold the rear wheels off the ground I can gradually increase throttle right up to the point the rev limit comes in. Instead of staying on the rev limit it will die-comeback to full throttle- die- come back to full throttle and keep this up. I took a short video but it doesn't appear that I have forum rights to post. I'd be happy to email to somebody to post for me.

I finally have some closure to this mess.
I purchased a PROCOM CDI unit. This unit does not work on my 2006 LTZ50. I called PROCOM before purchase, and they told me that it would.
I reinstalled the OEM CDI unit and began more work. I used an oscilliscope to verify the pick up coil pulse, and also the pulse generated by the CDI. At higher RPMS, the CDI unit quit functioning.
All this time, I was conducting tests with the battery removed. This was a mistake. This 4wheeler requires the battery to function correctly. I purchased a new battery, installed, and the 4wheeler runs as it should now.
The PROCOM CDI unit still doesn't function.
