Default 87 suzuki 185

wont start when cold, we have good spark, great compression and great fuel, i have cleaned the carburator, changed the plug, and done everything i could think it might be, i spayed ether in the carb trying to get it to start it still did nothing. it will start if you pull it and pop it but it wont start when its cold. once it warms up it will start easily. got any ideas whats wrong?

When you say great compression how do you know. Did you check it with a compression tester? It very well have low compression. Are the valves clearances in spec. With fuel, compression and spark at the right time it will start. It may not run well but should start. Is your plug wet with fuel after you try starting it?

In addition to the above post,
If it's electric start, it may not be spinning fast enough.

its probably your carb I have to turn up the idle when starting and adjust it back down once running.
