got my sons 160 running 3 months ago an he's had a ball running round the farm with it,..couple weeks ago i noticed he'd mash starter button every now an then while already running just to enjoy the funny noise(8yr olds mind) been telling him he was gonna ware teeth out on starter an it would stop cranking,...well it did! my questions are,..is the gear on starter replaceable or will i need a complete starter?? an what the chances he messed up the teeth on the flywheel to??? thanks for any insight an wisdom!!

 

what are your symptoms right now? can you hear the starter turning but not the engine? i had a 160 doing that and it was the starter clutch (not a part of the starter itself)
