Default Odd Eiger problem...need suggestions

My buddy left this 2003 Eiger at my place for a while. I try and ride it every now and then to keep the fuel fresh and I always add Marine Stabil to the fuel. Last time out is started stumbling while riding at a steady throttle, then would not idle(both only occurred after it was warmed up). So I got a carb kit and cleaned the carb & changed out the jets. Like before it runs perfect for about 5 min, then starts the same symptoms. What am I missing? There is no leak around the carb boot, so now I am thinking it's not fuel related but it sure feels like it. any help appreciated.

I have the same engine in my DRZ400S, but a different carb. I posted the same question over on ThumperTalk and got no ideas there either. This one's getting frustrating for sure..........

Might be your CDI. Do you have one you can try on the Eiger?

No, and I was thinking that too or the VR(voltage regulator). I had one(VR) fail on my Beartracker and on another buddy's Eiger. In both instances they ran like crap then the battery died from not getting charged. A new VR in both instances solved that problem. An intermittent CDI is going to be tough to diagnose but it's a possibility. I don't have another Eiger here to swap parts with.

Next time change 'fuel shut off valve' to PRI position. The 'shut off valve' or vac hose to it may be bad. Sounds like lack of fuel getting to carb at normal rate.

Scott, I think your right...I'm getting suspicious of the petcock. I have changed out two DRZ vacuum petcocks that failed, both letting fuel drip into the engine and contaminate the oil. I put Pingle's on my bike and a buddys, but the dang things are expensive at almost $100 ea. Do you know what ON/OFF/RES petcock fits the Eiger?
