Default 2002 eiger 400 auto 2x4 slow drain battery

battery charges fine and runs good. if it sets for a week the battery drains. disconnect the neg battery cable and put a test light across and got a very dim light. voltage is coming from the red wire to regulator from starter relay(or vice versa). bad regulator? or could it be passing thru the reg from the gen? sometimes have intermitten charging drops from 14 down to high 12s, but its more of a bounce then a loss. im pretty good with wrenches but suck at electrical. any help out there?

Hi, I'm having the same problem. Just took atv in to find the problem. Couldn't find anything wrong. (?) Was wondering if you had arrived at a solution to this problem. Would welcome the help. hjb65

Default its fixed!

had a polaris tech friend of mine stop by and he did a test on the regulator.(i had no idea how) and found it to be faulty. bought a new one and have not had a problem since. apparently the reg can do a slow drain and restrict charge all at the same time. automotive regulators generally eather work or not. why i questioned the slow drain and the intermitten charge

Thanks for getting back so fast. I'll have the regulator checked (replaced) and let you know how it went. New hope, hjb65
