THere is no safety switch on those to start them. Just need to be in neutral and in the "run" position.

well...... none of that worked... I unhooked the switches(3 from what I can tell) and tried it. Then I started completing the circuits with a jumper wire one by one. nothing... It still takes off like a bat outta he!! but then just runs out of rpms... Does anybody have any other ideas of something I could try?

I don't have the adapter for the smaller spark plug hole. I can say this though, you don't want to pull start it as your only means of starting it. It takes off in high, low, and reverse like mad but it's like it has a 2500rpm or so limit on it... So those things make me believe the compression is fine... it's got less than 2000 miles on it and it's never been sunk also. It's just driving me nuts that I can't figure it out. I even bought another new spark plug for it today just in case I got one with something wrong with it the other day....:co nfused:

I noticed in another thread that said there should be between 13.3 and 14.2 volts on the battery when revved up. If I have 14.55 on this one could that be a problem?

That charging rate should be fine as long it regulates an dont keep climbing at 5000 rpms. If its get ing the 16 to 17 dvc volts your igniton will starts breaking up..

Have you run the atv with the air cleaner lid off box? If you havnt tried this may want to see if it runs better. If it has an dirtdopper nest or rats nest in the air snorkel it will cause atv to run out of air.I have foundt if I remove lid to see if runs better an if does then inspect I air snorkel...Good Luck and please keep us updated

Sounds similar to the other thread. Try blocking partly carb intake with airbox off to rule out lean setting.

We've been at it again with long days at work but I'll try it tomorrow. If it makes it run better with it partially blocked what would need to be replaced? The inside of this thing is so clean I'd drink my beer through it(other than the gas taste).
