Question Charging quad battery

I bought an 07 KingQuad 700 about a month ago. Really don't have any idea how old the battery in it is. Went to start it the other day and it turned over twice without starting and then the battery was dead. So, I need to charge it. My question is...being that it is an EFI and has other electronic components on it, do I need to disconnect the battery before charging? Also, at what rate do I want to charge? 10 amp for so many hours? Or 2 amp for a longer period of time?

I prefer the 2 amp overnite method.

I don't think it needs to be disconnected because you can charge a battery in a car still connected and they have many more electrical components than an Atv. I always use the lower amp for longer time permitting.
