Default sleeving my 88 lt250r

I have to sleeve my cylinder. What I was wondering is can I bore the cylinder out big enough to fit an 85-86 sleeve and then just use those pustons as well. Or are the ports and pistons way different on the 85-86. Im just trying to get bigger than 69mm.

Wow.
Are you planning on doing this yourself?
Why would a 85/86 sleve have a bigger bore? And if it does, it'll have a different stroke. So I'm thinking no.
You need to go to:: SuzukiquadracerHQ.com and ask the Zuki fellas.

Don't know if it is possible, but I wouldn't bother. They are two completely different motors from '86 to '87. The later models are both more powerful and have more potential. Are you having a hard time finding the correct piston or something?

I have a cylinder laying around that i plan on big boring. It was sleeved before i got it and when the piston skirt broke during shipping i was screwed because they over sized the bore for the sleeve. I pressed the sleeve and shim out and plan fitting a trx250 sleeve in. 72mm

Port layout on 85,86 sleeve will not work or match.

You could send it to a motor builder and have a big bore sleeve installed.
I'm not a LT250R fella but I bet someone makes a big bore kit.
That's what a TRX250R has to have done.

The sad part is their is no specific big bore sleeve for the 88+ lt's. Fitting a trx sleeve is challenging due to the casting of the cylinder. The sleeve will practicaly be your transfer port wall.I have not gotten a sleeve yet but I noticed they are quite inexpensive. I just can't get myself to throw away the jug so I will make it work.

This morning I asked the guys at the zuki forums who makes a big bore kit.
No reply as of yet.

I liked the 310 kit on my R.
