1984 Suzuki 125 quad runs but starts hard

I bought a 1984 Suzuki 125 quad to drag baseball fields. It's the first quad I've ever owned. It will not start without starting fluid when cold, but runs good and stays running once warm. Is it the carb?

most likely, probably needs a good cleaning.

Is a rebuild kit available, or should I just try to clean it out?

Remove both jets and make sure you can see thru them.
I'm thinking it's compression related but a good carb cleaning is always needed.
