Default 2000 Quadrunner slips gear

Was out on the ice the other day ice fishing and I noticed my 2000 Quadrunner 250 (1600 miles on it) slips out of gear once and a while. It will also vibrate a bit too. Yesterday I just tried it on the driveway and I had all I could do to get it to move period. The motor rev'ed up but it just didnt want go go anywhere. Then last night I tried it again and heard a pop and and she took right off. Still slips though. So what are your thoughts? Clutch? How hard of a job is it to get to it?
Thanks!

You can usually get a good idea on what to do by looking at a parts fiche at a Suzuki dealer online.
