Default ozark dies

Ive got an 02 ozark. I just did a complete rebuild on the engine top and bottom, and also cleaned the carb, and tank. The battery in it is bad I know that for a fact, so for right now I pull start it untill I get a new battery. Well it pullstarts on the first pull and idles great it will idle all day, I can rev it up in nuetral and it revs great and returns to normal idle great. I can put it in gear and it will sit there and idle great. I can shift back to nuetral and shut it off and then it will start right back up with one pull. So my problem is as soon as I give it gas in gear it shuts off, and then will not pull start for quite some time. Im kinda stumped now as to what may be the problem. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Have you tried with the petcock in the prime position? If it's getting fuel from there you might want to go through the carb again.

Disconnect the line going to the carb, in the prime position make sure you have good flow, if you do, go through the carb again. That's what I would try, sounds like it's not getting fuel.
