Default Another lt80 mod question

Hi guys... I have an lt 80 that needed a new top end because I ran out of oil .. Soo while I had it apart I cut the head 30 thous. , removed two rollers from the front clutch , lightened rear shoes to 184 grams, and ported the reed cage . Before I had done all of this I would drag race my uncles stock lt80 and it was always a close race but I always pulled him a little mid range.Today I got mine all finished up, we drag raced them and he beats me now ! I am not sure if I did something wrong or what .. Now when I take off the motor sounds like it's screaming but doesn't have the torque it did before.. It used to pull the front tires off the ground for the first few feet.. Now it won't at all.. The motor sounds sounds like it's screaming all the time but it's not any faster. Where these clutch mods meant only for a 75 pound child ... I am 215 pound guy ?? Any ideas guys ?? Thank you

Maybe a roller flipped durring installation. Check that out and/or stick a roller or 2 back in and see what happens.
Your uncle didn't send his to his buddy yet I presume.

Mr lt80 .., I have another question, since I've done these mods and new cylinder , piston..sitting at an idle when I wack the throttle I get a clicking, pinging sound until maybe 10 mph or so .. Not sure if it's piston slap or what ?I did use one of those ebay kits (maybe that's the problem).. Thought maybe I need to adjust timing a touch? Ever heard of something like this ? Thanks for all of your help

I have a similar problem, but I didn't want to hijack your thread. I started a new thread. If I figure anything out, I will let you know.

Glad you got it!
Sorry I didn't see tyhe previous reply.
FYI: for some reason, there have been 2 motors with loose studs lately. If it happens again, make sure you check the studs..
