Default 1990 lt250s ac to dc. how do i do it?

hi all i have a lt250s that i am wanting to convert to 12 volt dc so i can use led lights, gps and my winch. i already have the lights, built a battery box and figured where and how to mount the winch. question is how do i get 12 volt dc voltage? i added a rectifier from one of my sleds. but my voltage dropped to 5 volts at an idle. 7.5 volts during rpm gain but then steadies at 5 volts again. i only have one ac wire as mine is the 250s model. is there a rectifier i can buy that will provide 12 volts dc instead of 5? or do i need to switch to the 3 phase stator from a lt230e? does anyone know if a stator from a lt230e will fit a lt250s? or am i better off selling this quad and buying something newer with a battery already? i am low income wanting to use this for search and rescue as well as pleasure riding.

That seems like an interesting project, but I'm thinking you're better off selling and buying something different.

If you don't want to do that, then you might check what goki uses on their starter kits. http://www.spinreel.com/suz-lt-230.jpg

But they say that when the lights are running, don't expect the battery to be charged much. Those magnetos don't have much power.

There is a chance you could swap over some 230e parts, but I don't know for sure. It seems much easier to find a quad with racks for search n rescue.
