Default LT80 Maintenance parts suggestions

I got a LT80 the other day that looked to be in good shape. I drained the gas and cleaned the carb but just wanted to know suggested companies for replacement parts or just OEM.

1. Petcock-Searched Forum and found an ebay one a user suggested
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Suzuki-LT-80...pXFVeu&vxp=mtr

2. Head gaskets- blew the top one after about 4 rides after getting it
http://www.ebay.com/itm/291967420348...EBIDX%3AITTusk Top End Gasket Kit Set KAWASAKI http://www.ebay.com/itm/172648519165...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

3. Carb rebuild kit- Is it really needed if all looks good? If so then which company
Amazon Amazon
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Suzuki-L...1ZCE7b&vxp=mtr
Amazon Amazon

4. Starter-Searched Forum and found an ebay one but are they really about the same as OEM and if so which company would be better suggested

Thanks

Petcock - I wouldn't replace with a stock vacuum unit, but rather a gravity fed unit..

Head Gasket - I'd use OEM personally...

Carb rebuild kit - if everything looks good and it was running fine no need...

Starter - Is there something wrong with the current one? I'd guess they are the same Chinese make just re-badged...especially at that price point...

Ok thanks,
I must have added the wrong link. My search on Petcocks was to get a gravity. I will check my URLS again,

Ok on the OEM head gasket

Carb, yeah everything seed fine when the engine was running

Starter- I think I burnt it up when the engine stopped working. I was trying to start it over and over. It now gets hot on shots runs and make the wiring verrrrry hot under the seat.

You might want to think about a pull-starter...not cheap at $100, but I hate relying on a battery as you cant jump-start these autos...

I have the cheapo replacement starter in mine...they work fine...

No they are not cheap the one I found was $89 and the electric starter was $28, but getting to the starter looks like a pain in the AS-!!! I tried my luck yesterday without taking apart everything and I was not able to get it out . So I think it would be worth it, just in case the electric craps out again. Plus like you mentioned you can not jump start these like clutch ATV and Bikes.

FYI: The ebay starters have worked fine.
No matter what petcock you use, I still put a inline shut off close as possible to the carb.
It seems that running the carb till empty avoids a lot of carb problems. It just saves time.

Rowdog - you need to perform the footrest modification (look it up - I think I even posted pics)...that will ease your suffering a bit

What is the footrest I tried searching but really did not see anything.

Also, got it back up and running. Smooth as a whistle now. Starts at a kiss of the button. Makes me wish I did not get the pull start, but hey got a backup now.

Ya know those things that your feet rest on? LOL
Considering that we should believe in maintaining the clutch's, the footpeg mod is a great help.

Forum would not let me edit kept saying I was not logged in even after loggin in. I tried adding 'mod' after footrest. Either way between having a TL1000,VTX1800, XR80, this LT80 for some reason I never knew they were called footrest and foot pegs...

ok but seriously you still did not offer direction to my request even with my typo. What is the footrest mod I tried searching but did not find anything?
