Default Suzuki Eiger 400

Hello I am new to the forms. And I have a question about my ATV. When I accelerate it chugs at the start and then takes off. Does this mean my air/gas mixture screw is not set right. How many turns do I turn it out. It is a 2006 eiger 400. I cleaned the carb and have it set at a turn and a half

Try setting at 2-2.5 turns out and see if it helps. If it doesn't help you may still have some blockage in the carb jets, float level could be off, worn needle and seat allowing too much fuel, etc. If you have to go back into the carb,do it right and rebuild it with a good kit.https://www.ebay.com/itm/03-07-SUZUK...!US!-1&vxp=mtr

You have a cv carb and a fuel screw or pilot screw as some call it.You can tell the difference because it's located at the front of the carb. Air screws are located near the back of carbs. Pilot screw increases or decreases fuel mainly for idle. An air screw adjust air to mix with fuel.Turning it out or in decreases, increases the amount of air allowed to the carb. The pilot is actually more sensitive than air screws and the base setting of 2 turns most cv carbs is just the starting point. As the engine warms up you can slowly adjust this screw out or in to get the best idle. Some carbs may end up at 2.5-3 turns out. Just depends on what shape the carb is in. If adjusting for more fuel or decreasing the turns on the pilot screw doesn't help your problem, then like I mentioned you may have to go back into the carb. If you do that, rebuild it. Doen't make sense not to. Item #18 is the pilot screw on your carb.https://www.suzukipartshouse.com/oem...0ba/carburetor Plus the kit comes with a new pilot screw, washer, o-ring along with jets and carb bowl o-ring.
