Default CDI needs replaced

1985 SuZuki LT-230. Runs at 1/2 power until you tap on the CDI (part # 32900-18A00) Runs OK for a while then has the same problem. Fixed the same problem years ago on another Quad. Easy..
The part is NLA now. Epoxy filled case. Is there a way to remove the case and do board level repairs? There is probably just 1 bad solder connection that is the problem. Any advice/tips would be very helpful. Or, anyone have one to sell? Thanx. Jim Sharp

You might give this method a try , there used to be a chemical that did this , last I saw it was around 15 years ago and don't recall the name of it .

Another approach is making the CDI from something else fit. Back in the 80s they tended to be simple, like modern Chinese CDIs, So if it is a 5 wire or close to that, one of the cheapo Chinese CDIs could be used. Advance retard curve may be slightly out, but probably not enough to notice. Or Suzuki dealers may know of a "work around" so a later Suzuki CDI can be used.
