Default 04 Suzuki eiger no start

I have an 04 Suzuki eiger lta400 4x4. I rebuilt the carb and cant get it to fire. Fresh oil change as of today. I have checked for spark and it's good with new plug. Tank is allowing fuel to the carb. When I try to pull start it it is blowing a small amount of fuel out of the air filter side. Tried starting fluid and it blows right back out. Bought the quad not running and they said it did start with starting fluid but it wont start now. Wont start with a little bit of gas in the sparkplug hole. Any ideas on where to start?

Iwould start with a compression test to see the overhaul health of your cylinder.

The Eiger's are known for the fuel petcock leaking through the vacuum line on the back of it directly into the cylinder. Check and see if you have fuel in the oil. If so, you can replace the petcock with a traditional style, non-vacuum one and plug off the line. On my old one I had I think one off a Yamaha Raptor 660 fit perfectly and was $40ish dollars for an oem one. You can google this problem and get exact part numbers if this is the case. Good luck.

"you can replace the petcock with a traditional style, non-vacuum one and plug off the line"

Problem with that is, unlike the Yam, Eigers have no overflow for the carb, so if the float needle sticks (fairly common event) fuel runs into the cylinder and airbox overnight, filling the sump with fuel. Unless you are going to turn that tap off after every ride, don't fit a conventional tap to a Suzuki.
