New to the 50cc world by acquiring a LTA50 for my daughters to ride.
Bought the machine used, it had been sitting for a couple years going unused, went through the carb, reinstalled and it starts and runs of standard gas (important, keep reading)
Challenge is everything I'm seeing online tells me that the quad is a 2 stroke, sounds crazy but I'm not seeing a separate oil tank under the seat like i would expect, and no obvious ports without hoses as if a oil tank was missing. I believe that there were 4 stroke models out there as well but i sure can't seem to get my hands on anything definitive.
Anyone out there help me to confirm what I have acquired here in terms of what type of fuel to use?
A VIN search tells me that this is a 2002 Suzuki LT-A50 Quad Sport/Quad Master
A decent picture of the engine would help, though picture two does look like the distinctive two stroke carb. The LTa50 had the same two stroke engine as the LT50 Google this for a good picture of the engine. The LTz50 has similar plastics to the LTa so they are difficult to tell apart from a distance, but the engine unit is a four stroke and looks totally different. If it is a two stroke do not use it without either oil in the oil tank, or premix in the fuel tank. 32 to one if you pre-mix it.
