Electrical issue

Default Electrical issue

Alright everyone, i bought a LT80 in bits, i have rebuilt it give it new top end and now when i turn the key the electric start motor kicks in straight away! it doesnt start unless it is switched onto run, when i reconnected the full wireloom and im hoping it is something i have connected wrong! Any help much appreciated, thanks.

My guess would be the starter solenoid, check those red and red/white wires that go to it, if the original plug-in set up has been replaced with normal spade connectors, they could be on the wrong terminals.

I'm saying that's where I would start. Maybe ohm it.
They have went bad before.

I had a look and starter button looks good to me how would i check the solenoid

Ok so is the solenoid on the wireloom, i pulled it off it had a little metal conector that was apart and pushed together does this sound all good?

Solenoid on an LT80 is a car style black box relay right next to the battery, four spade connectors on it. I think the spades are held in a plastic plug, but sometimes people remove the plug and fit four separate spades which you can get wrong, unless you know which way to fit them.

Easy way to check if the start button is stuck, the starter will only run if the brake is on as well.
