Is the oil injection system still working? Some owners add oil to the fuel as well "just in case" but if it is working and you add oil at 40 to 1 as well, you are actually getting about 18 to 1

Also 2 pints in 5 gallons is 20 to 1 not 80 to 1 are you sure you are working your mix out correctly? The correct mix is about 30 to 1

... i use a special mixing cup. So there’s no way I’m messing up on the mix ... I have all two strokes and I mix one big batch of 40:1 for all of them ,and I’ve been doing that for a long time... The oil injection has been taken off. The previous owner said he was mixing one 1 quart to 5 gallons ... I believe half a quart is 40:1 to 5 gallons.... The LT 80 is so bad when we trail ride we always put it at the end because it stinks really bad to be behind. But this thing absolutely rips will take my 240 pound *** all over.

I run all my bikes 40 to 1. I was making special batches 32 to 1. For the LT 80. But switched to 40 to 1 so I didn’t have to make extra mixes and because it was smoking so bad.

I meant to say he was mixing 20 to 1 ... you’re right too much oil. Trying to type these questions while I’m in a hurry at work sorry

Right, if you are not putting too much oil in, but getting too much smoke out, only two possibilities, either it is running too rich, clogged filter, stuck choke, wrong jets, etc, or the smoke is old oil burning off in the exhaust. Personally I would rather see too much smoke than too little, as a sooted plug is the result of too much oil, whereas a seized engine the result of too little.
