Hi, won’t start. When I put the plug to the engine and turn over to check for spark, it might initially spark once but then nothing. Then even without turning the engine over, I hear a snapping sound from the coil and if I touch the plug I get a shock. This is without turning it over! Any ideas?

 

Could be your coil or HT lead shorting, though you wouldn't then get a shock from it. Try a new plug, if that doesn't work, get a new coil & ht lead. A cheap Chinese version for your model, should be OK to check it out. To be scientific, you could check if you are getting high voltage pulses between coil leads from CDI and earth, when you spin the engine over. This can be well over 100v so be careful.

 

As soon as I put the ground on the battery to power it, I hear the coil noise so strange.
