Not shifting

My 1992 Lt250r doesnt want to shift up gears i have to really pull hard to get it to shift, as far as clutch mods go only thing not stock is a hinson clutch basket, im thinking the plates are worn or something stupid hopefully. any suggestions? Thanks

You may have a bent shift fork in the case, Usually a bad set of plates will not affect shifting. When you ride at full throttle does it over rev, and feel like it has a loss of power? This is usually the first sign of a bad clutch. Since the clutch is easily accessed then check it out and you might as well replace it, but I think you have an issue inside the cases. With out riding it I can't tell for sure. When you say you have to pull really hard do you mean pull on the shifter or the clutch lever? If it is the clutch lever you might just need a new clutch cable yours is either rusted or frayed inside the cable.
