**IMPORTANT** help me choose my new bike!

ok guys its time to help your old pal juggalo out. i know i said before that i wanted a 250r but i can't afford one even if my insurance does go through so i guess i'm gonna get another LT. so far i've narrowed it down to 2 choices and my pal gary manilow so kindly informed me about a nice LT that is also for sale near me so after he tells me what it has i might add that to the list but for now there are 2 choices. oh yeah and if i'm lucky i will have around 2700 to spend. but it will probably be more like 2500 to spend.
1st choice: 1989 QR 250 frame, with a 92 engine. the quad has new plastic, brand new rebuilt engine from east coast ATV, plus the original 1989 engine that needs a new rod. it also has nerf bars and new tires (looks to be turf tamers and 400EX fronts i forget what those are called). he says he just got the rear shock rebuilt. the quad looks like brand new from the pic and from what the owner tells me it is just like brand new. its all stock exept for the tires and nerfs. he said he would sell it to me for 3000 but i might be able to get it lower. i have called this guy and he sounds legit and a nice guy. he also has 4000 dollars in reciepts that hes spent on the quad.
2nd choice: 1989 QR 250. with paul turner pipe, holeshot tires, renthal bars, and a dirt digger clutch. from the picture it looks pretty clean. it looks like it has maier (which i personally hate) plastic and it looks like it has a set of paddle tires too. i don't know the condition of the bike but i'm sure its nowhere near as nice as the first one. i haven't called this guy yet so he might not even have it. the proce is 2300 or best offer. i probably would try to get it for 2000 or less.
well those are my choies right now. i'm leaning more towards choice one but i dunno number 2 sounds tempting plus i'd have money left over to spend. but the engine in the second one could be ready to blow, who knows. also the first one is closer to me and my dads truck gets about 8 miles to the gallon. so what one would you get? please help me with this. its really important to me. i really need to get another quad. when i called that first guy my hand was shaking so bad i could barely hold the phone. thats how much i NEED a quad. so please please pleeeease help me. oh and one more thing i don't even know for sure if my insurance is going to cover my quad but if they do these are my choices.
thanx every1.

I know exactly how you feel about needing a new quad. I would rather have the 1989 with the 92 engine, just because it had just been rebuilt. My friends got a 92 for 1600 and it blew up 5 hours after they bought it and the whole engine needed to be replaced except the cases. So go with the reliability issue on this one. Also, you get another engine with it for parts if you need it. I am trying to get a 91 for 2000 dollars. It's just been rebuilt. He had it at 3000 for about 5 months now and dropped the price so I am trying to get it.

thanx for the post LT. i hope more people post. cuz if they don't i'm gonna be mad. i mean i think i help a fairly large amount of people out here i think the least they could do is help me be able to do the sport that we all love again. anyways i figure if i get that lt with 2 engines, i could make the 92 engine into a nice racing engine, then take the 89 and make a nice duner or somethin. you know throw a nig bore kit in, port it, all that good stuff. i think that would be real slick. dune it on saturday, race it on sunday.

i think #1 sounds like a better quad. id talk to east coast atv and ask them what kind of motor work they done, and what kinda condition it was in when the guy brought it in. Take a look at the older motor as well, if it looks like its been beat or has had poor maintnence the newer motor has probebly been treated the same. also take it for a ride and see how you like it.

i'm already ahead of both you guys, well sort of. i asked the guy and he said the frame is perfect, and even if its not i know a good welder who has fixed my old LT a bunch of times. also he says the motor is brand new. i don't even think its broken in yet. he said he just wants to sell it because he wants to race stock cars now.
