It depends. If everything is origional and never been replaced then this quad could be a nightmare and you would want to avoid it like the plague. Parts only last so long. You don't want to have to rebuild the top end, the tranny, the clutch. Not to mention all the bearings and seals in the chassis the first little bit that you have it. BUT! On the other hand. IF this quad has been properly maintained and well taken care of then it is probably a good deal. Check it out and use your judgement. It most likely is a reasonable price. Good luck.

I recon that when looking at secondhand dirbikes and ATV's, you should be mainly concerned with gearbox and suspension. all the extremities of the bike need to be carefully looked at. Id much rather be rebuilding the top end the day after i bought a bike, than replaces bent tie rods and a arms. at least when you rebuild the top end, you have an idea the condition of inside of the engine. the first thiing i check on any bike if the tranny. shift up all the gears, and back down. ride it a few times and go through all gears...accelerate a decelerate in all gears. Next check for blown shocks....easy just jump on the bike and feel for rebound. Then check the chrome rod part of the shock for wear, dents or scratches. these things cost a fortune to fix! Always find the best deal and be patient. you should always expect something wrong with the bike cause for majority of sellers, the reason for selling is a problem that they couldnt be bothered fixing.....unfortunately...good luck dude

My zilla was junk when I got it and I have spent almost $2200 getting it to the point where it rocks. Unfortunately, none of that $2200 went to the tranny which is where mine needs the most attention. When the transmission gets fixed (I suspect the dogs are worn on 1-4 gears, shift forks, gaskets etc..) I'll be in it another $500-$600. Ouch.
Your short description leads one to believe that this zilla is in better shape then mine. Buy it and have fun.

Aussie
I don't know how much $1520 Aussie dollars in American dollars, but I'm sure it is a pretty big hit. What you are having done is what I am going to do in the spring. I want to get one more dune season out of my trans. One other thing that I am going to do is replace the right (clutch) side crank case halve. Mine is missing a big chunk of aluminum where the swingarm bolt goes through. Because of this, sand, water and mud get in there and into the swingarm bearings.
If anyone has a right crank case halve for a good price I'll buy it.
