I just got an 86' QuadRacer 250 and my headlight doesn't work. I don't think that it needs a new bulb because it won't work on either beam. The bike starts good and runs good so I wouldn't think that it's the stator. Is it the stator or could it be in the wiring? Also, it doesn't have a taillight so would one of those cool round 400EX taillights fit on it? thanks

Dude there is a good chance that both the high beam and low beam filaments a nackered. best thing to do is to take the bulb out, and check whether there is any electicity getting to the bulb with the help of a multimeter. then go backwards from there checking all wires for electric current.
