Anyone know first hand what the top speed of the Vinson is? I have test ridden 2 of them, and one felt much stronger than the other. Only thing is I didn't have enough room to open it up past 40 mph. The first Vinson I rode back-to-back with a 500HO and it felt slow, but the second Vinson seemed to pull harder (maybe jetted for altitude?). I'm still considering both these machines, but I like the looks and weight of the Vinson better. Also the pretense that the Zuk will require less $ to maintain. I do like the IRS of the HO, but the Zuk seems to have a very plush ride and actually seems to corner better. So, top speed could make or break...

I'm still in the break-in period of mine and had it at 47 mph this Sunday. There was still plenty of throttle left. Bottom line is I don't know what the top speed is yet. I'm not going to try it until I break it in.

The Dealer where I live told me it would do right at 60 mph when broke in and on level ground, but don't expect more than that. 60 is pretty darn fast for a 500 cc utility quad. I would buy the Vinson, I bet you wont have to work on it as much as the Polaris. just my opinion.

60 is not bad, the HO definitely feels faster but probably will never need it. The Vinson seems to have more down low power right from the start. Still can't make up my mind, but the longer I look, the lower the prices get. I am looking at $6000 + tax for the Vinson and $6200 + tax for the HO. Only thing is I think I should add $500 to the HO for an extended warranty...

Needtoys,
I paid $5800 + tax for my Vinson. My deal was to not get the $300 in free accessories for a reduction of $200 in asking price. Have you tried that as a negotiating point? It worked for me.

Someone else said they paid $5770 for their Vinson.

needtoys,
something else you need to consider is that with the Polaris you will have to spend the money for a winch. At 600lbs you could get by without one on the Suzuki, (though it would be nice to have) but it's a necessity with the Polaris if you're going to be taking it off road. Either that, or never go for a ride by yourself.

Thanks for all the input. The $6000 + tax is already with the $300 discount...unfortunately around here they don't deal too much, and they are acting like these things are in high demand and inventory is short - give me a break!

One other thing I noticed about the Vinson is the floorboard plastic is VERY thin and flimsy, unlike the HO. Also, the skidplates are also plastic instead of metal or aluminum. Don't really know if either is of significance; however, the more I look at quads the more I understand why the Polaris weighs so much.

I never thought it would be so hard to decide on which quad to buy...

Well, as you can see from my signature, I bought the 500 HO. I couldn't resist - $5995 + tax + $500 for 5 year no deductible warranty. I'm happy

Thanks for all the input.

Congrats on your new ATV. Being happy with your purchase is really what counts in the end anyway.
