A question to you LT80 owners..... Does the muffer have a plate in it or near the head that resticts the flow? My oldest girls ETon50 had one right at the head, removed this for less smoking and easier starts. Does the LT80's have the same thing?

Yes it is supposed to have one in it right where the pipe goes into the head. It is also supposed to have a plate in the carb to that you can remove. But when I bought A 2001 from my dealer it didn't have either of them in it.

I don't think there has ever been a reestrictor plate on a LT-80 pipes but yes there is a lil brass ring that restricts how far the slide goes up, in the carb. The dealers are supposed to remove them as I hear it. The first one I ever saw was in the box w/new carb.

Our 2001 LT 80 had both restrictors in place, one washer restrictor between cylinder and exaust pipe and one throttle limiter in the carb.
