Hey! A fellow Manitoban, I see... I've got an '86, but I've got an 89 RM engine in it, so I can't be of a lot of assistance on rebuilding a quad engine... You blew up your engine on the first ride? Do you have a lot of modifications or something? What year is yours? Are you familiar with HSD Racing, they might be able to help you get parts.

I can say i was not to happy with it blowing up. From what i can see it was ported and polished, 80 over piston, psi pipe with fmf silencer. It went like a raped ape for the couple of minutes that i rode it.

There was an 89 RM 250 bored out to 300 in the buy and sell last week, that would be a cool engine for your quad, but I think it's gone by now... And I don't have the number...

What exactly went wrong with your engine?
