Has anyone out their raced these two against each other yet? The new Suzuki is supposed to have a pretty snappy motor. Any observations? Thanks.

Hammer,

I traded my Sp 500 back in November for a Vinson. Although my Sp was a pre-ho, the Vinson has far more power to the rear wheels. I haven't been on a HO yet to be able to tell the difference, but I might have the oppurtunity to run against one this weekend. I haven't checked the speedo against a gps, but I have gotten it to an indicated 62 mph. That seems to be about all it has. There's room for more though as it revs to the top real quick. The handling is real good on the Vinson compared to my SP that had the tendency to dive into corners. I feel the struts are too "soft" on the SP's. Progressive has a set of springs that are adjustable and from what I hear, they work good. All I can say is that the Vinson DOES have a snappy motor and I compare it to being almost equivolent to the 650 Prairie with the Prairie having the edge on top.

My dad is thinking of picking up either the vinson or Grizzly I like them both and like the automatic idea but have heard that the grizz is a little stronger right now hands are tied..

the Grizz will be stronger with almost 30% more displacement over the Vinson. It depends if you want IRS and the extra power with roughly the same weight or something that will carve through the woods like a sport machine but have 4-wheel drive when you need it. I've never ridden a Grizz so I can't comment on how well they are put together or how they hold up. I know that I don't regret giving up the Sportsman for the Vinson.
