LT80 Update!
#1
This forum has made my Son a very happy little boy!
It was just a couple of weeks ago I logged in and asked some questions on how to get more out of our little LT80. You see, he's been riding since he was 2 and now at 7, he's wants more. But what quad do you go to? He's too small for larger framed quads (blasters, 300ex,) and we ride in sand where the smaller (and newer) 4 strokes don't have the poop to climb even the smaller dunes. I figured he has a least a couple more years on an 80 sized frame so why not hop what I've got up?! After reading many posts on do's and don'ts, it was clear that there were many opinions on what and how to hop 'em up. But one poster kept coming up being helpful and very knowledgable - "LT80"!
Cutting to the chase: Jack worked his magic and the end result is everything he promised. Because of his tips, hints, knowledge, experience and honesty, my son is once again riding with a smile! Any of you who are asking "What do I need to do to make my 80 faster, more responsive, easy to work on without giving up reliablity and $pending a ton", need to drop him a line - It's time well spent and your son/daughter will thank you for it.
You often hear who NOT to trust to work on your quad, I think it's good to let ALL know who you CAN trust. Thanks to this forum and "LT80" (Jack)! Now we are again doing what we love to do - RIDE!

Front clutch modification, rear clutch modification, opened up reed cage w/ new reed, ported and decked cylinder, shaved head, new air hole in stock carb bowl, re-jetted carb, advanced timing, new stock piston (not Weisco - the LT80 likes the OEM Suzuki better), 13-26 gearing, removed oil injection, Works shocks, front a-arm extentions (2.5" ea. side), DG pipe, Turf Tamers w/ Douglas rims in dirt - Skat Trak 5 paddles w/ Douglas rims in sand (fronts have stock tires on Douglas rims). I'll let Jack (forum handle "LT80", give you more in-depth specs on what was done but the end result is amazing! His feeling is you don't need an after market pipe or bigger carb or even to open up your air box to get results. Take the money you'd spend on that and you'd be close to what Jack charged for his clutch, engine, and carb mods. We have taken it out in the dirt and the result was incredible. We will be going to the Oregon coast next week to see what it will do climbing BIG dunes - my son can hardly wait!! From other testimonials of people who have had Jacks work - reliablity has been great as well. For me, I have paid $1950.00 in 1995 (bought it new for my daughter) and have invested less than that since as he has grown. For my son, there is not another quad to fit his frame, that is light enough to "throw around", has electric start, has the 2 stroke zing, and proven reliablity for the price. He can't kick start a blaster, can out run a 300ex, safe because of its weight (220 lbs.) and easy to work on and get parts for. I'm not saying this quad is for everybody, but it positively fits the bill for me.
