I like my 21x12x9 Mudsharks.........I got more round clearance than w/ a 20-inch tire, and more wheel-to-fender gap than a 22-incher so it looks good, plus they hook up great in loose stuff, wear long, and slide pretty good. I imagine they'll work great in the mud (no way[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]) and snow, too.........Latah......

 

what kind of conditions do you ride your fast treckers in, i think where i live they would be too prone to getting flats.

I ride in a wide range of conditions. Ranging from loose soft bentonite, to sharp rocky shale. The rocks tend to slice the ***** quite a bit (depending on how much hill climbing I'm doing)
If you're looking for something next to indestructable, the Fast Trekkers aren't the ones. Go Kevlar. I buy them 'cause they're cheap and hook-up really well. I have had a few flats, but nothing that was catastropic.

I gave away a set of Bandits last fall... (only had 5 or so rides on them)

i am not looking for something that a tank would go through, but we can be upto 50km away at times, and a flat would not be good that far away. how do your treckers hold up on thick muddy areas.

 

the only reason i was looking at razors was that in a old issure of dirt wheels they did a sport tire shootout and the razors did well in all conditions as well as went through mud pretty good.

 

I don't have a great deal of mud experience with the Trekkers. I ride pretty darn hard, and I have pushed mud/dirt/etc. between the bead and the wheel which caused problems. (I should probably look at bead locks one of these days)
Bentonite is nasty stuff when it gets wet... The tires clean fairly well for a tire that's not really agressive enough for a mud application IMO.
I've also ridden with one flat for quite a long distance... they are pretty tough.

I currently have a set of the Razors on my 250R.. They handle great, and seem to work pretty well. I would buy them again.

 

I've got Holeshots on mine. They wear good, ride good, and have a stiff enough sidewall to get home when flat. I've had the Fast Trekkers and liked them, too. My next set of tires will be the Bandits. I think that you can look forward to heavy tire wear with the Zilla no matter what brand you go with. The bike is just too powerful. (As if that's a bad thing.)

 

i have a new set of bear claws on it now that are only three months old, and we have been riding mostly in the snow. you should see the wear on them, all chewed up and ripped, my buddy has a set on his ds650 and they look new still.

 

I don't own a Zilla but I would go with the Bandits. They are going to work the best in all conditions, they have deeper lugs for mud cleaning, stiff sidewalls, and hold up great to flats. The Razr's are also a great tire but will wear faster with their softer compound. Go with the Bandits.

 

My dad had 20/11/10 blackwaters on his old zilla.I loved those tires.They hook up great slide predictibly and are just great tires.Most people over look these tires but I love them.

I have a set of 20/11/9 6 ply razr's that I switch between my 250r and 300ex.THey are also great tires.Hook up great slide well.I have only had one flat.(my holeshot mx's lasted 5 minutes)I am pretty hard on tires and these razr's are awesome.I plan on trying grooved turf tamers on my R next.


I would try some blackwaters!
