Hi people, I am in the market for a new ATV. I am going to be using it for hunting, trail riding, and plowing snow. Also sometimes riding with a second person on the bike. Would the Eiger with a manual do a good job?? Price can't be beat. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.

I think you would be very happy with the eiger. My wife and I bought new ones about a month ago, and boy are we having a ball! We moved up from ranchers, and I feel the eiger is a much better machine. The ride, power. and stering are all far better, and the four wheel drive works! (That was always a problem on the ranchers, get a front wheel off the ground and it would get all the power.) So far, with about 100 miles on each machine, we have had 0 problems. As for plowing snow, can't help you there, as I live in the middle of a desert!

I am getting a new Eiger today. There is more than enough room for me and my wife to ride together. I live in Alaska, you won't want anything smaller than the 400 for plowing snow. I just got rid of a 2001 LTF300F. It was ok in the snow but wouldn't have done a good job plowing. I got the manual shift model and am going to do a little testing this weekend while breaking it in, so I can give you more information about performance, etc. in just a couple of days. Will let you know how it goes.

I got my Eiger Sun. n today is Mon. I put 103 miles on it. You've got to understand I live in Alaska. In town we have 1-2ft of snow. It was anywhere from 10-35ft where I was riding. lol no shi_ I didn't need low at all. It was all 4x4 high in 3rd to 5th gear. I got some realy nice pics. I will have them on my website in a few days. Check them out They are awesome If you are thinking about an Eiger the machine is great. I do not believe in beating on a new machine either!! It is truly a tank I didn't think it would handle as well as it did. I love it all most as much as my wife! I hope she does not read this

I've had my eiger 4x4 manuel for a couple of months. No major problems so far. I really like the machine. It has better power than I expected and the ride is smoothe as silk. The shifter was a little stiff at first but it has loosened up considerably.

Anyone know any aftermarket stuff available to dress it up a little?

if by aftermarket stuff you mean engine mods, you can go to thumperracing and order a high compression piston for a drz350(you need to order the big bore version), have them port your head, and order their stage 1 cam. The eiger uses an over-bored drz350 cylinder so many of the same engine hop-ups will work.
