Ozark vs. Rally
#11
Spent 4 hours on the Ozark trail riding in Ocala Natl. Forest today. This Quad is better than the Recon! It handles whoops better, has more power, better brakes too. It is not a lot better, just enough to notice. I have spent a lot of time on these same trails with the Recon, so I know it pretty well. Jaybee hit it on the head with his assessment of what Suzuki did! Love that dry storage bin, start in gear feature, brake lamp, and the looks of the Ozark. The open driveshaft looks cool. The full floorboards are great too. It feels so much like the Recon I had to look down to tell it was'nt. All my balance and riding experience were directly transferable from Recon to Ozark, I was riding 150 ft wheelies on the Ozark 2nd day I owned it! It is uncanny how much the two quads ride alike. Enough ranting, I'm just a sucker for 250 class quads!

Who's had problems with suzuki products lately? I have preached for quite a while now about Honda falling off the "performance wagon" , and I still am. Suzuki has been kicking a$$ in the streetbike market for years, and Honda just can't (or won't) keep up.. Now it seems that way in the ATV market, what next??

Hey bobcatv8....how's that Suzuki Ozark working out for you? Currently looking at 3 different machines: Suzuki Ozark, Suzuki Eiger 4x2 5sp and Honda Rancher ES. I'm new at this atv thing and kind of confused at what I should be looking at. Have zero riding experience. I don't want anything too small or too big. Looks like I will be riding at Ocala as well (never been there...what's it like?)or Central to NE FLA areas if anything is available. I was told to bring a GPS.....very easy to get lost. Thanks for your help!

<< To me the new bombardier Rally looks like a Lego toy. >>
Exactly. But, that's not bad, is it? Lego is fun.
Doesn't the Ozark look just like a Grizzly 660 without the round headlights? Not that that's a bad thing, just interesting... I think I'd rather have a mini-grizz than a big lego block.

I still love the Ozark! I've got about 7-8 hrs. on it now. Ive been busy with house and truck projects {and working on the LT 230S} so not much time to ride. Besides, it is very dry in the forest now, April showers bring May flowers must be a yankee saying, it's the driest month in FL. Rode 2 weekends ago with 5 quads and got dusted out! We usually go to the Big Scrub campground,{8 mi. S. of Hwy. 40 on forest 588} or stop at 588/595 pipeline rd. intersection. Definetly need a GPS if you are a rookie and don't ride alone, easy to get lost. I don't know your riding preferences, but I do know the Ozark is less expensive than the other quads you talked about, I think it is the best value for a rookie. I like trail riding with mild to moderate hill climbing and sand too. The mid size quads suit me and my family well. Low maintenence/high fun. I've got the old Quadsport 230 for hotdogging with the boys, and the new 400 Zuki piques my interest a lot. I do recommend the Ozark for riding in the forest, plenty of places to ride and the Ozark can handle it all. I'm 6' and well over 200 lbs. and it's big enough for me. I suggest lots of test rides! When you ride Ocala, stay off the numbered roads, don't go on the bombing range, it is clearly marked, and just respect the forest and others right to use it! It's a blast to ride there and there is plenty of space and things to do in ONF. Get a quad, a friend and head out to the woods!
