How do you think the Z400 will compare with the Raptor?

Let's see... the 400EX shares the XR400 engine, but with a milder cam, no? Well, the information we have so far suggests the Z400 is spec'd the same as the DRZ400S, and let's assume the Z400 quad has milder cams as well. So, one point of reference might be: how does that bike's performance compare with an XR400?

there is a night and day differnce power wise between the xr400 and the drz400, the drz is comparable to the wr426 while the xr400 gets left behind by both. the drz400s puts out less power than the drz400/e, but it still is quite a bit faster than the xr400.

That was my point, which I elaborate on in the "Z400" thread. I specifically chose the "S" model DRZ, because it has the same compression ratio and carburetor as the LTZ. So, unless Suzuki detuned the LTZ more than Honda did the "XR400" engine in the EX, the new quad should have demonstrably more performance than the Honda. I'll be very surprised if the Suzuki has a mere 7% hp advantage (33 vs 31) over the pedestrian Honda.
Of course, now we have the "4wheelatv" review to really whet our appetites.
