Let me add my two pennies here since I was there and drag raced Sandgod. First off, I could give a crap if a quad is faster than another by a few lengths. It is absolutely meaningless that one is a little faster when you throw in jumps, whoops, and lot's of turns. Riding ability will be the determining factor who get's to the finish line first on a track. Anyone can open up the throttle and go straight. We just wanted to see for ourselves how the new rides would perform side by side.

The Cannondale won both drag races against my Z. I rode my Z, with my brother on his Cannon. I weigh 215lbs. and he weighs 180lbs. Through the midrange was close, then we hit top gear and the Cannon pulled from me by about six quad lengths. When we switched quads the race was closer up till fourth gear and when we hit fifth the Cannon pulled away roughly four quad lengths ahead. The Cannon is definitely stronger everywhere than my Z. Rider weight definitely makes a difference in drag racing. When I get a pipe, filter, and rejet it will be a much closer race. The Z rev's extremely well!

thanks for clearing it up sandgod and Buddah,
hey I am interested in a Z400, I have a cannondale, my fiance needs a bike do you think the z400 would be good for her. She grew up riding three wheelers, but hasnt riden in a few years. I like the reverse and plus I want to ride it. Are you impressed with the Z? Think she just wants to ride around with me a little then would be happy parking it and then I could take it out and rip with it.
thanks guys.

Maybe I am reading wrong but there is NO WAY a dale 440 could touch a CRF450. 0-60, the CRF is the fastest four stroke dirt bike there is. If you want top speed, the KTM 520EXC will do over 110mph

Dirtbikes maybe not, but quads is a diffrent story. At red bud Doug gust had 2 bikes to choose from his 440 suzuki or his 450 honda. They dragged the 2 and repeatedly the suzuki lifted the front end with no effort in 3rd and 4th gear, they also said the suzuki had more bottom end. He choose to race the suzuki. Point is the honda isnt as fast as some people think it is. In the pro-am class the cannondale spanked everyone including 450f's. Its all rider

You're welcome JCV400ex. I think my brother need's to attend some type of grammar school or something. Thank god he's not an English major. I give him crap all the time about his great (*cough*) spelling and his wording. Oh well, he'll get a laugh out of this response.

Trout, I think a Z would be a great quad for your fiance, or for anyone else. It has good power and is easy to handle. I think she would be very happy to own one. I am very pleased with my purchase. It's an overall good package.

I also type then times faster then him and post ten times more then he does so I can't make a career out of typing replys...... And he didn't pull away until the Z was topped out and around 1 mph maybe two...It was dead even until then.

Sandgod,

I was just pokin fun at ya. You where the first to give us what we all wanted to hear....just had to iron it out a little...

I might get those tires off of you if you still have them on June 30th. I gotta get the lady out of my hair first and pay off some bills. But i do need an extra set of wheels.

It's all good. Top speed means very little. I jabbed my brother for saying it was closer when we switched quads. I said "you know it was even till I topped out in 5th." He said "yeah I guess, I didn't know you were topped out." Anyway they're both great quads. The Dale is more track oriented stock thats for sure. The only thing really lacking in the Z is low end. Tires are on ebay......
