UPS broke my jug!
#1
Sent my jug to trinity and was broken when it got there (tab broken off the bottom of the sleeve). UPS wont pay for it even though I bought $400 worth of ins. They said it was packaged wrong according to their standards and the little old lady at the shop I sent it through is responsable because she didn't make sure it was packaged properly. I had it wrapped in a big bath towel and put in the box with the wadded up newspaper ***** around it. It is your word against theirs and you'll lose everytime. They hosed me out of $289 for a new one plus I had to buy another piston because mine was on the second bore and I already had the piston for it. Dont be fooled by them with all their drivers that are so freindly because they are in a business that cant lose. They collect money for insurance and dump it on the business that sent the packege out.

Dude, you can fight this and you can win. UPS is only looking at replacing $400 worth of items, a drop in the bucket for them. First and foremost, you bought $400 worth of insurance. Secondly, ask them where at the place you shipped from is a UPS packing instruction sheet. You're not a UPS employee and aren't trained on professional packaging techniques. I worked at a place that shipped UPS. We had a UPS shipping program on our PC's and everything was done electronically. The customer was never presented with packaging instructions, only a receipt with a tracking number on it. Also, we were never trained by UPS on how things were supposed to be packaged. There were only a couple things we were told to ask; 1.)Ask them if they'd like additional insurance, 2.)Are they shipping any sort of aerosol paints or flammables. That's it and then we made sure clear packaging tape was used on the seams of the box.
I'd start making several phone calls to UPS and I'd go to the place you shipped from and ask where's the packaging instructions UPS claims to have there. If this place doesn't have UPS packaging instructions I'd call them from there and argue your point. You'll get your money...

Alot of my buddies had worked for ups part-time loading/unloading the trailers at the hubs. I will tell you they have some stories about throwing stuff around that will make you go elsewhere, I allways ship USPS unless its heavier than 45lbs. USPS is allways cheaper and faster in my opinion and I ship alot of stuff.

i think they hire professional box crushers there. Everything i have ever received from ups has been dammaged or the box was at least mangled beyond belief. You can fight this , you bought the insurance, you're not liable, they OWE YOU! Go after em and GOOD LUCK i hope you get them!

I worked for UPS as an unloader about 10 years ago and I resent that!! We kicked packages too!! This was in the NW burbs of Chicago so if anyone had something broken around 10 years ago, it wasn't me

Guyraptor I told the ups guy in charge that she never asked me how it was packaged or anything and I never saw anything on packaging. He told me that where I shipped it from and every other place in town was not a ups place it was just a place that sends it for me and makes a few bucks. I said then how did they get all those stickers for the windows and doors that say "Ship ups here" and the books and scales to weight stuff! He still said they aren't a ups place so it's their fault!BS I don't buy it!

Well then, I'd be going to the place you shipped from and tell them about this whole ordeal. See what they think about UPS blaming it on them. Also, of course where you shipped from isn't a directly UPS owned facility but it's a UPS approved shipping station otherwise they wouldn't deal with them.

I work for fedex, and I know that UPS checks the packages for soundness. Meaning that if it needs put in a different box(your expense) or more tape needs added so it stays together they will do this. Reason, so they do not have to pay claims on your packages,,
they are blowing sunshine up you know were...They must pay for the claim of damaged goods.
