Mad Dashers post got me to thinking about this one. I ride my restored 86 LT230S with guys on 400exs, Banshees, Raptors and the like on forest trails and sandpits and it does ok. They obviously have much more power and more advanced suspensions and are much faster in most situations. What I was wondering was how a 300ex would stackup against LT230. I've never ridden with one but they appear to be great quads more in line with the LT230s for size, age and class. Anyone have experience or seat time on both? What do you think?

My friend used to have one a LT230. Those things are great for wheelies . So are the 300EX's. The EX is an all around better quad then then 230. But the fun factor on both of them is exceptional.

300ex will spank the LT230 very easily.... Hand down on that.... I know for the fact because my friend had a LT 230 built motor while my is bone stock motor and beat it......

Also 300ex is more easily ride then LT230 on trail and dune area.

I don't know what you are talking about DESRACERS but my 230 has a DG pipe and K&N and my friend had just gotten a 300EX ad I beat him. I wouldn't hardly call mine "built" either. I didn't get a great start off the line since he said go (obviously sincehe said go it wouldn't be good for me) but after 3rd gear I gained very quickly and then walked past him. But now he has a HMF and K&N and he beats me in the short races, he has 20 inch tire and I have 22. But without the Q'sport 230 being the FIRST sport quad, then Blaster or 250X(later 300EX) or any others in this class might not have come to be, who knows. And to answer someone else's question, with my DG RCM pipe and K&N it really brought the quad to life. But if you can scrounge up the extra dough, I would get the Excellerator DG exhaust.
