I ride w/ an 86 that is bullet proof and is just as fast if not faster then some of my previously owned 250r's....My LT was a time bomb and didn't run as good as his..

The newer lt's are pretty fast 87-92 but the 85-86 are slower that crap.
My friend just bought a 86 lt 250 all tock except for boysen reeds and it had oaddles and my 400ex had paddles we raced up sand mountain(utah) today and he only beat me by like 1 or 2 bike leangh's.

The '87-'92 are way better than the '85-'86 LT's. They have a stronger motor, 6 speed trans, better suspension, better swingarm, better seat, and I believe they were just a little bit lighter. I had an '87 and my uncle had an '85 and when they were both stock I could waste him. After I started modifying it he was not even in the picture.

TRX250EXER

For $1800 a honda can have a powervalve too. Lets to the math puy about $1000 more for a honda then add a powervalve kit for the 1800 big ones this = suzuki's engine tech. Or you can buy 2 suzuki's for the price you have in one honda. Even better use the extra money to build the suzuki up and kick some serious honda butt. Powervalves are awesome no doubt about it. It's just to bad suzuki didn't spend more time and money on the handling part.

I have owned (2) 86 quadracers and A heavy moded 91, but models have their good points. I'm a woods racer so the powervalve and 6 speed is nice, but I think if I was to set a machine up for mx it would be a 85-86 over the newer models do to the 5 speed tranny and the instant rip the 86 has (since it does have the powervalve).

To bad that I bought a cannondale and now I'm not having any fun on the 86 or 91 quadracer. So here soon I plan on not owning any suzuki's
