i was thinking about swapping a 400ex carb into my z and i was just wanted know all i need is the carb and ex throttle assembly? and how did the stock ex jetting work for the z, was it a good upgrade. Also does anyone know where i can get a regular fuel valve instead of the vacume thats on it, i dont trust it. thanks

 

I've heard you only gain 1hp w/that change. Now granted, for a hundred bucks, that's a descent gain. I want the DRZ carb myself. Just have to find the money. yeah right. Keep us posted on your swap if you make it.

That fuel valve sucks. Everytime thrshr and I put our quads on end they flood out. I will replace mine soon.

 

WP- Maybe you should inspect your valve. I store mine on end , and its on end when its in the truck and it has never flooded. It is always on end in my garage , because my garage is so small and I always have to work on the EX! It will only flood if you put the valve on prime.

 

the valve is not the problem, it's when you stand it on end, the fuel from the bowl leaks out to teh air filter.
