Looking to change out the stock bars. What is everybody using and how do you like them? I find the stock bar height a little tall for good hillclimbing, so I don't just want a replacement bar with the same geometry.

One dilema is what to do with the plastic thing that is between the bars (that holds the reverse light, key, etc.). If you get a bar (standard 7/8" diameter) with cross brace (my personal preference) the brace pad gets in the way. And, if you get one of the fatter diameter (1 1/8&quot bars that has no cross piece, you have to buy a different pearch, plus the plastic thing won't pop onto the fat bar.

I slapped on Renthal handlebars (picture link below) with the racer bend (aka very little bend). They are tilted far forward.

You can always cut the bottom of the foam padding it's not going to protect you, only the top will. It should stay upright because of the restriction from the plastic. I may chop my foam a bit to bring the bars back, currently they're in a very aggressive position.

The 400ex bend may be more comfortable.

Corpsie,

Do those renthals make you wrists hurt? When I ran bars that far forward, they put my wrists in a bad position and they started hurting after a few hours.

trail tech makes a clamp for the z400 that holds the key switch and the indicator lights:

Thor2,

nope, no pain in my wrists. When I first put the bars on, I had the switches in bad positions, but I adjusted it & it feels WAY better.

What bend did you have on your bar?

Do you have pictures of that clamp with the lights/switch mounted?

I went with a new stem and Tag bars and had to relocate my lights and switches. You can barely see them in the picture, but they are on the top of the fender by the stem. It looks factory when you are up close.

When I get my front plastic back I will take photos of every mod that I have done. I gave it to one of my customers to make a fiberglass filler piece for the headlight. This way I can have my number plate on for racing and light on for night dune riding. Hopefully it will be done this week but definately Monday.
