Lets say someone had a little bit of money and wanted to build an MXer. Here are the options:

1. 2003 Quadsport Z 400. Dump some money into the suspension, tires, and beef it up.
OR
B. Find an older Quadracer and dump some money into it.

If I went with option 1, I would have one ultimate quad.

If I went with option B, I would have two great quads, and one for a spare should the unthinkable happen.

So, which would be the cheapest way to go?
Which would be the most reliable?
Which would be the most fun?
What parts on each would you change to make it MX worthy?

This would be a winter project, so have a quad in peices in the garage would not be too much of a problem.

I also tossed them up and you can see where I went. I used to hava an LT250R and with my 440 kit I think it is a much better quad. Plus you have better frame geometry and newer technology.

First of all I have an old 91 quadracer that is set-up for woods racing that I'm selling (see 91 lt250r quadracer post). All you won't have to do is relve the suspension and it's readdy to race. That's if your interested in an old quad.

My question to you is are you set on a Suzuki and how soon are you looking to do this?

The reason is a cannondale makes a quad that is race ready that will blow the z400 away (pending rider ability). Or if the price is to rich for you. I have good info on 2 new race ready quads of uder 8k. One is a 300cc 2-stroke that will is to beb release early next month and a 450cc fuel injected 4-stroke that is schedule for release something in Nov. 7K for the 300 and 7700 for the 450.

I checked out your quad and I like it, but it is in Ohio and I am in Alaska.

I am partial to Suzukies (or is it Suzukii?), just because that is what I have always owned. I have always wanted to build a quad from the ground up. On the other hand WP hit the nail on the head. I could have the best of both worlds and one bad quad. But, I really want to build up an old racer.

Something that is kinda bugging me is, the whole 2 stroke vs 4 stroke thing. I was at the track yesterday and I stalled it, all I had to do was push a button. It just was not right man! You stall in a race, you have to KICK, that's all there is to it!

Why don't you just come out with it and say Gas Gas. So they are finally going to release them. Is this just rumor or do you have confirmation. They have backed out before. They look like pretty nice quads in the Dirtwheels pictures.
