the kfx and z are exactly the same except the colors and the front light hood on the kfx. i have rode the ex and don't think that it handles near as good as my kfx. also, the z/kfx handle mods a lot better than the ex (from what i've been hearing) ie, less mods to get the same power. it all comes down to what you want or think you want. either way you will still have fun. if you go with the ex, don't pull up to a z/kfx rider to race, you'll get beat. lol

I have had both the ex& the z400.I can't wait to get back on the honda. If you are working with a budget go with honda.Replacement parts are 1/3 the cost. For example plastic is nearly $300 for the Z and $75 front or back on the honda.A-arms $189 Z/$40 ex.If you ride hard or alot buy honda. If you really want a Z I'll sellyou mine! Both good machines otherwise. goodluck!

The 'Dale is really not that more expensive. I paid $6400 for mine while my dad paid $5700 for his so that is $700. However the Z is not as high strung and is a better fit for most people.

If you want somethin faster than a Z, and more like a Dale, just throw a 440 kit or a 453 kit on a Z. You'll spend less than a Dale, and whoop some azz on those dales. Of course you'll still need shocks for the handling edge, but the Z's motor is sooooooooo detuned, it's one of the best stock platforms to start with. The ex is good, but if you're goin that route, than buy USED!!!! Then you'll have a ton of cash left over to mod the stank outta it!
