Best all terrain tires for ZILLA???
#2
Check out the new Maxxis Razor 2. It's a holeshot copy with deeper tread. Looks better suited to all terrain.

I haven't tried them yet, but I'll probably get them soon.
All I ride in is mostly sand with some dirt and rocks here and there with some roots and such. That's basically all Florida is anyway.

Ran the bandits, and absolutley hated them! Bulletproof tire (If you get the kevlar belted) and the fore/aft traction isn't bad, but the side bite sucks! I hated how they handled.
Had the razors on for a little while now, and they work MUCH better!
If your looking for a cheap (inexpensive) tire that works pretty well also... 22X11X10 Fast Trekker, I've beat the daylights out of several sets of them.... they bite great, wear pretty good, but are somewhat suseptible to flats (Like what tires aren't?)
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the input.
I currently have a set of 50% treas holeshots now, but wqas hoping there was a better choice out there for all terrain.
On the Bandits, you liked the traction, but didn't like the way they slid, eh?
Hmmmm... there has to be a good all terrain tire out there that fits the power curve of the zilla, isn't there?

Had a brand new set of Kenda Bear Claws on the back , only good in Mud and Skagg no good on hard packed or loose gravel. Threw a Set of Holeshots on 2 days ago and the differnce is night and day , I love these things they launch my Zilla twice as hard as the claws did. can barely keep the front tires on the ground.(not that I'm complaining)

I had a set of fast trekkers on my last Zilla several years back. They were a nice all around tire that wore reasonable considering they were spinning most of the time. A set of the new lower profile Holeshots would be hard too pass on though. The rear Bandit on the Raptor is awesome. Wet, dry, mud, shift your weight and the rear slides (a plus on the Raptor).....I'll be replacing the rears with another set. Note that I trail ride exclusively.
When I get another Zilla, I will at least try a set of rear Bandits (stay clear of the flat fronts!). I think Bartelracing posted a place where he buys Holeshots for high $40ish. Good deal....should turn up with a search. If you wind up with the Bandits, PM me on your thoughts. Later.

I`ve used RAZRS alot but they do seem to wear fast. Great traction tho. The RAZR 2`s have wierd sizing. I think they are more for Cross country. I have a friend with new holeshots on a Banshee. They seem to be great tires too. I havent tested them all but Id go with RAZRS, HOLESHOTS or SHREDDERS.
