The carb is from the DRZ400S street legal version. They used this carb for emissions to obtain a green sticker. The lack bottom end you describe is from the lack of response from the carb. You push the throttle lever which opens a baffle creating vacuum then the vacuum diaphragm lifts the slide. All of this action results in a lack of throttle reponse, and a lack of direct slide lift from the throttle which allows improved power.

I guess I'll stick with the stock carb, my Z already likes to try to throw me off of the back when stabbing the throttle.

Me too, at 175 lbs I don't have any issues with the carb response time. My hands get tired after a long day of holding on so tight anyhow......[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif[/img]

If you are happy with your Z as is, No problem. The question was asked about bottom-end mush and I just wanted to point out what the major cause was.
