Does the 2003 Vinson have more power than the 2002 (see new Vinson article on this web site)
#1
Hello,
I just read the article on this web site about the new manual transmission Vinson. It says that engine has been retuned for 2003 with higher compression, a redesigned muffler, and some other "unknown" things. Can anyone verify whether or not there have been engine changes in the AUTOMATIC Vinson for 2003?
Thanks,
Lorrin

If any changes have been done to the manual then they will be done to the auto. There is no way they would use different motors for the manual and auto quads, that would cost way to much money. I think what you heard was the manual is more responsive and more powerfull, why? Because that is the nature of manual quads. Autos seem to have some sort of lag when you hit the throttle. Plus the manual version is my efficient with its power than an auto.

No, I am talking about the fact that the article on the front page of this web site about the new manual trans Vinson says that the compression ratio has been raised from 8.5 to 10.2, the muffler has been redesigned, and maybe some jetting or porting changes. Check out the paragraph that starts with:
"According to Suzuki specialists, this is not the same engine found in the 2002 Vinson automatic. This powerplant has been redesigned and produces much better acceleration. "
I would have thought the Vinson owners would be all over this by now...
