What is clicking
#1
I have a loud clicking niose coming from the front left side of an 86 230 Q runner(2wd shaft drive Hi lo tranny). The clicking is not loud straight line riding, but right hand turns really make it louder. It is not tire clearance or the tire rubbing the frame during turns. The clicking corresponds to speed, faster riding= faster clicking.I have tried to hone in on it but I just cannot see what I am hearing.I tried coasting down a hill(engine off) while turning right ,but just could not figure it out.I got off the quad and pushed it around in a circle ,but the click was notably quiter without me on it.I also jacked the front up and rotated the wheels but all was quiet.
So the clicking frequency is amount is determined by wheel speed.
The clicking intensity is dependent on wieght on the quad.
The clicking also intensefies(sp) with a right hand turn.
What have I got here?

You have a predicament here! I would check your ball joints up front, they maybe worn out? Uhhmmmm.....what else.....looks at your bushings for the shocks and a-arms, see if they are cracked or worn out. Also take off the tire and inspect the brakes to make sure you don't have a twig or a rock in there. I'm not an expert on mechanics so this is all I have to offer. Hope you find out whats wrong!
