Hey people, my Zilla started leaking all its coolant out a small hole on the bottom of the water pump.

I changed the coolant, and aside from a drip or two here and there, it seemed fine. (last night at Glamis) Any idea what this hole is for????? My bros 86 LT250 has it also.

Between the water pump seal and Bearing is normaly were the peehole is located.
When the seal gets worn out, water will drip from hole to let you know it's time to
change your Waterpump Seal before the water get into your Oil.
I think if you check out www.eastcoastatv.com web site there use to be OEM parts Diagram
this should give you a good idea what I'm trying to explain.
Good Luck!!

I am not familiar with the zilla but when there is fluid leaking out of the weep hole I would think its time for a new coolant pump.

The seal is bad on the back side of the impeller. You need a new mechanical seal and oil seal. When you take the bolt out of the impeller it is REVERSE THREAD! The leak happens all the time, It is an easy fix. If left to long the water will mix with the case oil then it is a big mess! Good Luck
